DeSync

Research & development

Explore carefully.
Build on evidence.

Our longer-term ambition is to investigate new ways of combining personalised sound with complementary sensory input.

An early-stage
research direction.

Alongside the audio-only app, DeSync has prepared development specifications for a potential research platform combining sound with an additional sensory stimulus. This is often described as a bimodal approach.

The initial engineering scope is a bench-testing platform. It is not a device for human use. Any human-connected system would require a separate professional development and evaluation programme.

This is a proposed research direction. Safety, effectiveness and suitability for clinical use have not been established for DeSync’s proposed system.

A staged programme.

01

Develop and learn

Complete the audio-only product and evaluate user experience.

02

Establish engineering feasibility

Build and test a bench platform, subject to funding and specialist input.

03

Evaluate responsibly

Develop any human-use system through an appropriate safety, regulatory and clinical programme.

04

Review the evidence

Make further development decisions on the basis of results, resources and the requirements for the intended use.

Research collaboration.

We welcome discussions with tinnitus researchers, audiology specialists and biomedical engineering teams. Detailed project information would be shared selectively following an initial discussion and, where appropriate, a confidentiality agreement.
